Established in 2006, Burnaby Mountain Lacrosse is an amateur sports organization owned and operated by Vancouver based, Selects Lacrosse Inc.
Through their many programs, camps and clinics, Burnaby Mountain Lacrosse has developed a youth-to-collegiate-to-pro model that is the first of its kind in Canada and the leader in developing top young lacrosse student-athletes from British Columbia, Washignton State and Idaho.

Brent Hoskins, B.A. - Executive Directortop
Mr. Hoskins is an accomplished business leader with over 10 years of experience in corporate, community and organizational development. Brent specializes in the advancement of integrated marketing strategies and communications; including branding, public relations and advertising and has spearheaded the growth of numerous businesses and innovative sports initiatives.
Prior to becoming Executive Director of Selects Lacrosse, Mr. Hoskins successfully fulfilled senior level positions in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, Brent was Vice President of Marketing and Multimedia for Firstar Sports Inc, recognized by Champions of the Sport Market as Fastest-rising Brand in 2008. He was also formerly Key Account Manager West at Johnvince Foods / Planters Canada, one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies. In the public sector, Brent has over 5 years of experience coordinating recreational programs for the City of Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Culture where he also served on the City's Gender Equity and Cultural Diversity Committees.
Mr. Hoskins received a B.A. from Simon Fraser University (SFU) and was an All-American in lacrosse. He is currently Head Coach of the men's lacrosse team at SFU in addition to serving as Vice President of the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League Executive Board and as a member of the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association's Division I Awards Committee. Brent is a founding Director of Burnaby Mountain Lacrosse and the SFU Lacrosse Endowment Fund and is founding Chair of the Maple Leaf Awards Dinner.
Joyce Simons - Director, General Manager, Executive Cheftop
Ms. Simons brings extensive and diverse leadership experience to Selects Lacrosse specializing in investment/portfolio management and financial operations. Joyce has been General Manager of the Selects and a Director of the Burnaby Mountain Lacrosse since its inception in 2006. She is also a Founding Committee Member for the Maple Leaf Awards, an annual event in support of youth and collegiate field lacrosse in B.C.
Ms. Simons has over 20 years of experience in national telecommunications operations and is a former Director with TELUS Communications Inc, one of Canada's leading telecommunications companies. During her remarkable career, Joyce held a number of senior management positions with TELUS including Director of Enterprise Program Management, Director of Real Estate and Administrative Operations, Manager of Facility Operations and Business Continuity, and Manager of Accounting Operations.
In the spring of 2008, Joyce enrolled at the International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute to pursue her life-long passion for the Culinary Arts where she completed a double diploma in Culinary and Pastry Arts, graduating at the top of her class and being named to the Presidents List.
Along with her Director and General Manager roles, Ms. Simons serves as Executive Chef for the Selects Elite Touring Teams accompanying the athletes to top college recruiting tournaments throughout North America.
Joyce's son Josh, was a member of the inaugural Burnaby Mountain Elite team and played four seasons for the Selects from 2006-2009.

Chris Fox, B.Sc., B.A. - Director of Girl's Lacrossetop
Mr. Fox is a motivated and driven professional with an entrepreneurial spirit. In addition to his work with Selects Lacrosse, Mr. Fox also serves as the Western Canadian Sales Consultant for Harrow Sports, and Owner/President of Vagabond Lacrosse Inc. Prior to his current positions, Chris spent four years in NCAA intercollegiate athletics, both as an Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach and Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at Whittier College (NCAA Div. III) and Wheeling Jesuit University (NCAA Div. II), respectively. While at Whittier College, Chris was also a Graduate Instructor within the Kinesiology & Leisure Science department.
Mr. Fox's wealth and range of experience makes him a valuable addition to Selects Lacrosse. Chris served as Instructor and Co-Director of Girls Lacrosse (South Bay Youth Lacrosse) with the Starz Lacrosse Foundation (Hermosa Beach, CA), a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of lacrosse in under-served communities in the western US. Additionally, Chris served as an Assistant Event Manager for Adrenaline Lacrosse (San Diego, CA), the premier leaders in western US lacrosse recruiting camps and showcase events. Chris also held an exciting Internship with the Wheeling Nailers (Wheeling, W.V.) of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) that set the foundation for his passion to work in athletics.
Mr. Fox graduated in 2006 from Wheeling Jesuit University with his B.Sc. in Business Management and his B.A. in Political and Economic Philosophy. During his four years at WJU he served as Vice-Chair of the Student Athletic Advisor Committee, and was inducted into the National Honor Society in Philosophy (Phi Sigma Tau). During his time coaching in the NCAA, Chris studied for his M.A. in both Education and Organization Leadership.

Stephanie Burlton, B.A. - Senior Editor, Digital Mediatop
Stephanie majored in Film Studies, Philosophy and Anthropology at Union College in New York where she was also a two-sport athlete for the Dutchwomen in Lacrosse (NCAA Div. II) and Hockey (NCAA Div. I). Following her collegiate athletics career, Stephanie played goal for the Canadian National Women's Field Lacrosse Team and competed in the WWHL (Western Women’s Hockey League) for the BC Breakers Ice Hockey Club.
In her role as Senior Editor, Digital Media, Stephanie oversees all of the SelectsTV Video Production Services, including the editing of non-linear, audio-video material used in SelectsTV DVD authoring and web publishing. In addition to her leadership in Digital Media, Stephanie is also a Coach with the Burnaby Mountain Selects Girl's Elite Touring Program and works as a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA).
During her time away from athletics, Stephanie continues to pursue her passion for documentary filmmaking and specializes in vegan baking, promoting environmental sustainability and health through the creation of all natural, whole food products.
Nathan Hoskins, MSc, BSc - Academic Advisor / SAT Course Instructortop
For more than 10 years Nathan has worked as an academic advisor and tutor for international students as well as BC high school and university students. He has assisted students applying for admission at several Canadian universities as well as American colleges, including law schools and medical schools.
Prior to co-developing the curriculum for the Selects SAT Prep program, Nathan completed a Master of Science degree in Developmental Biology from Boise State University in 2009. While at Boise State, he was a teaching assistant, lab instructor, and lecturer in general biology, developmental biology, and biomaterials engineering. In addition to his studies and work as a teacher, Nathan was also an Assistant Coach for the Broncos men’s lacrosse team.
Prior to his time at Boise State University, Nathan attended Simon Fraser University where he was an Academic All-American in lacrosse and majored in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Criminology and a Certificate in Liberal Arts.
He has written both the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (now the SAT Reasoning Test), scoring in the high 90th percentiles in both mathematics and writing/reading components.
Brian Lim, BSc - SAT Course Instructortop
Since 2001, Brian Lim has been helping his students reach their educational goals. He has tutored individual students, instructed classes and developed curriculums for various academies and educational institutions.
In secondary school, Brian received a perfect 4.0 GPA while attending Sir Winston Churchill’s International Baccalaureate program. He received numerous high school scholarships and an unconditional scholarship (USP) to the University of British Columbia as well as a top fifth percentile score on the SAT. At UBC, Brian received a degree in Microbiology and established a thriving business tutoring secondary students which he maintains today.
In 2003, Brian diversified his educational portfolio when he began teaching group classes at a large ESL school. He quickly moved up in seniority to teach lectures on a variety of different ESL subjects including grammar, writing, International English Language Testing System (IELTS), and Language Proficiency Index (LPI). After three years in the industry, he developed a successful business as a consultant for other schools, creating several successful programs. Most recently in 2010, he was a head curriculum developer for a technical college established in Jazan, Saudi Arabia.
